Celebrating Academic Excellence and Environmental Stewardship

Jumeira University proudly celebrated the achievement of Dr. Muhamad Jumaa, Faculty of Business Management, for his exceptional contribution to advancing open research and promoting sustainability in higher education.

Dr. Jumaa represented Jumeira University as a speaker at the 4th Annual Forum for Open Research in MENA, where he shared thoughtful perspectives on open science and collaboration across academia. His participation reflected Jumeira University’s enduring commitment to fostering a culture of shared knowledge, innovation, and academic integrity within the region and beyond.

In recognition of his contribution, the forum organizers planted a mangrove tree in his name, a graceful tribute symbolizing sustainability, growth, and the far-reaching impact of knowledge. Expected to thrive for up to 60 years and sequester over 308 kilograms of CO₂, the tree stands as a living testament to the harmony between intellectual pursuit and environmental responsibility.

This meaningful gesture resonates deeply with the University’s values of academic excellence, open knowledge, and sustainable development, all of which align with the UAE Vision 2031 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

At Jumeira University, we take immense pride in the accomplishments of our faculty who continue to inspire through scholarship and service. Dr. Jumaa’s recognition not only honors his academic dedication but also reflects the University’s belief that education, when rooted in purpose, has the power to nurture minds and sustain our planet.
