Jumeira University took part in the events marking the International Day of the Arabic Language, organized by Pakistani universities. The University was represented by Dr. Atef Ismail Ibrahim, a faculty member, who contributed to a range of academic, scholarly, and cultural activities.
On 17th December 2025, Dr. Atef Ismail served as a member of the judging panel for a public speech competition held among students from Pakistani universities and religious institutes. In addition, he presented a scholarly paper at the 3rd International Conference: “Travel Literature: A Cultural Bridge between World Cultures”, held on 18th – 19th December 2025 by the Department of Arabic Language at the University of the Punjab, in cooperation with the Higher Education Commission. His paper was entitled: “The Anthropological Dimensions of Language in the Documentation of Ibn Battuta’s Travels, as Reflected in His Work Tuhfat an-Nuzzar fi Ghara’ib al-Amsar wa ‘Aja’ib al-Asfar.”
Furthermore, Dr. Atef Ismail participated in the conference “The Arabic Language and Islamic Sciences: A Shared Heritage and a Vision for the Future” held on 20th December 2025 in cooperation with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, where he presented a paper entitled: “The Language of Arabic Proverbs Between Stability and Evolution in Light of Contemporary Identity Discourse.”
These distinguished academic contributions left a refined and positive impression, generating significant interest and appreciation among participants.
