Conference Preamble

Date: Thursday, 17 December 2026

Time: 9:00 AM

Mode: In Person

The family constitutes the fundamental building block of society, the primary environment for nurturing values and identity, and the foundation for developing individuals and shaping future generations. Accordingly, family stability and cohesion are not merely domestic concerns; rather, they represent essential pillars of societal security, economic stability, quality of life, and sustainable development.

In recognition of the United Arab Emirates’ declaration of 2026 as the “Year of Family,” reflecting the nation’s commitment to the importance of the family and its role in developing individuals and society, and in line with Jumeira University’s dedication to supporting national priorities and strengthening the contribution of scientific research to national and community issues, the University is organizing its Second Annual Conference on National and Community Issues under the theme:

“The Family and Shaping the Future: Integrated Perspectives for a Sustainable Society.”

The conference adopts an integrated, interdisciplinary academic approach based on the understanding that contemporary family issues cannot be examined from a single perspective. These issues encompass interconnected dimensions, including Islamic jurisprudence and its higher objectives (Maqasid al-Sharia), legal, educational, social, economic, and technological considerations, alongside national policies and future developments.

Accordingly, the conference seeks to provide an academic platform that brings together researchers and specialists from various disciplines to examine the current realities of family life, analyze the major challenges and transformations affecting families, and explore their future prospects.

Through its research contributions and discussions, the conference aspires to generate evidence-based perspectives, practical solutions, and actionable initiatives that strengthen family cohesion, preserve family values and identity, enhance quality of life, and empower families to fulfill their role in shaping future generations and building a more stable and sustainable society.
