Dubai Scouts Launch Summer Camp at Jumeira University with 100 Student Participants
The Dubai Scouts Commission has launched its 2025 summer camp in collaboration with Jumeira University, targeting over 100 boys and youth aged between 7 and 15. The camp is held under the theme “Artificial Intelligence for Community Service,” aligning with the nation’s direction in harnessing modern technologies to serve development and enhance the skills of future generations.
Running until July 31, the camp includes ten interactive programs featuring training workshops in artificial intelligence, programming, and digital media, in addition to scouting, sports, arts activities, and field trips. It also offers the “Young Journalist” program, which trains participants in photography, report preparation, and radio program presentation using professional equipment that simulates a real media environment.
Khalil Rahma, Executive Director of the Dubai Scouts Commission, stated that the camp represents a qualitative shift in scouting by integrating modern technology concepts with educational values. He noted that the programs were designed based on the needs of the local community to ensure the development of students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
He added that hosting the camp at Jumeira University reflects the Commission’s commitment to providing a deep and stimulating learning experience within a comprehensive university environment that supports the students’ cognitive and behavioral growth.
For his part, Professor Mounir Dhibi, President of Jumeira University, said:
“Jumeira University is proud of its partnership with the Dubai Scouts Commission in this unique educational camp, which reinforces the principle of learning through practice and helps refine the skills of the new generation in an environment that encourages creativity and exploration. Our support for such initiatives stems from our firm belief in the importance of developing an aware generation capable of leveraging modern technologies to serve their community.”
Participants in the camp will receive attendance certificates accredited by the Jumeira University Center for Continuing Education, with programs led by a select group of academic trainers licensed by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), alongside international trainers from the World Organization of the Scout Movement – Emirates Scout Association. The camp also offers organized transportation services to ensure accessibility and safety for all participants.
