The Master’s in Fiqh and its Fundamentals explores the principles and complexity of the science of Islamic Shariah; its applications and association with contemporary jurisprudential issues.

The program trains specialized and competent individuals in the fields of jurisprudence who advocate for an authentic and modern perspective to deal with the contemporary jurisprudence issues and developments, in accordance with the tools and the methods of devising Sharia rulings.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Graduates of the program will have the opportunity to work in a broad range of career choices in the Shariah judiciary system as Shariah lawyers, Shariah or legal advisors at banking and financial institutions. In addition, the program qualifies its graduates to work at public and private Islamic institutions, charities and non-governmental organizations, as well as pursue careers in academia or research.

ENTRY AND LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies or Shariah Law
  • A CGPA of 3.0
  • Language:
    • Arabic: Non-native speakers must pass the Arabic Language Placement Test
    • English: All students must maintain one of the following scores at the time of admission:
        • TOEFL: 450
        • IELTS: 4.5
        • EmSAT: 950
