Khalifa Bin Dhaen Al Mheiri
Our founder, Major General Khalifa Bin Dhaen Al Mheiri, was born and raised in Jumeira, Dubai. Then, Jumeira was a small settlement of makeshift homes made of tents and palm fronds. Within that tight knit community, everyone knew each other and relied on each other, living simply and honestly. From that neighborhood, our founder emerged a strong individual committed to his community, his nation, and its values.He joined the military at the tender age of 14, training to become a strong and effective leader. Later, he was one of the earliest to join Dubai Police, remaining committed to the force for over 50 years, nurturing and guiding all those who succeeded him. To honor his unwavering dedication, he is called “The Father” by officers and dignitaries of all ranks and considered the Dean of Police throughout the United Arab Emirates.Throughout his career, Major General Khalifa, was a beacon to the community. He showed courage in the face of great obstacles and shone as an example to those devoted to the community and its values, contributing to the creation of the Dubai we know today. Founding many organizations and initiatives, he was a role model to all around him in his generosity and compassion for the less fortunate.Resolving to represent the best in his community’s culture and to pass on these values to the generations to come, Major General Khalifa founded this university. An institution dedicated to knowledge, empowerment, and most importantly, community engagement. To commemorate his contributions and honor his birthplace, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, gave his blessing to name it Jumeira University.
