Student services

Jumeira University creates an engaging environment for learning, growth, and excellence. Our dedicated faculty and staff work tirelessly to support our students. Transitioning to university life can be a daunting experience. Jumeira University acknowledges these challenges, and our highly trained faculty and staff help students acclimatise to their surroundings and confidently navigate their academic journey.

The Student Offices offer various services, including admission, registration, orientation, counselling, financial aid, extracurricular activities, and community service opportunities. These offices also play a crucial role in promoting responsible behaviour among students, ensuring a safe university atmosphere, and maximising students' learning experiences by upholding the Student Code of Conduct.

Registrar's office

The Registrar’s Office oversees and administers student academic services from initial registration to graduation. Key responsibilities include academic course registration, managing academic data and student policies, class scheduling, exam administration, degree auditing, student awards, and graduation. Serving as the main office for reporting and analysing students' academic progression, the Registrar’s Office applies rules and regulations, interprets academic policies, communicates procedures to students, and advises on academic policies and procedures.

Student enrolment and engagement office

The Enrollment office manages enrollment services for prospective students, handling enquiries, admissions advice, and scholarships. Additionally, the office provides administrative and supportive services for campus-wide events to foster an active and healthy campus life. The primary objective is to encourage students to participate in social, cultural, and entertainment programs, enriching their university experience and enhancing their educational journey.

Student service desk

The Student Service Desk serves as a centralised point to receive student enquiries and process requests related to letters and student ID cards, including:

  • Non-academic appeals

Student engagement office

The Enrollment and Engagement Office provides the following services:

  • Student Service Desk
  • Scholarship and Financial Aid
  • Student Guidance and Counselling
  • Daycare Services
  • Transportation Services
  • Student Activities and Recreation
  • Engagement Partnership

Accommodation:

International students should budget at least AED 3000 to AED 6000 per month. This will cover things like utilities, transportation, food, and entertainment.

Jumeira University does not provide any accommodation services; however, we can guide students on how to get a proper place to live in.

Visa:

A student visa, commonly known as a student residence visa, is required to study in the UAE. Student in the United Arab Emirates must be sponsored by a higher education institution or a local relative, and it is only valid for one year and must be renewed annually.

Health insurance:

At Jumeira University we provide health insurance cards for students under our sponsorship. It covers a lot of health institutions in Dubai. For further information about the health insurance please do not hesitate to visit the Engagement Office and our staff would be more than happy to help you.

Hospitals and Clinics around the Jumeira University campus:

Valiant Clinic and Hospital, open 24/7.

Emirates Hospital Jumeirah, open 24/7.

Midlife Clinic: It is the nearest clinic to the campus and they provide pick up and drop off services for Jumeira University students for free, open every day 8 AM to 10 PM except for Friday from 8:30 AM to 9 PM.

Code of conduct:

MISCONDUCT OR UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOURS:

The following behaviours and actions constitute a violation to JU & code of conduct:

  • Engaging in criminal behaviour or using or selling illegal substances or materials.
  • Gaining access to or downloading data from inappropriate sites on the internet
  • Downloading illegal material from the internet; viewing or sharing illegal material on campus.
  • Using another person name or ID number to gain entry to campus.
  • Lying, holding back information, or otherwise deliberately deceiving a university instructor or staff.
  • Falsifying documents or using falsified documents for any purpose connected with Jumeira University.
  • Engaging in disruptive behavior in or out of class.
  • Behaving inappropriately toward university faculty, staff, fellow students, or visitors.
  • Engaging in intimidating, harassing, or threatening behaviour.
  • Engaging in inappropriate physical contact with another student or member of the JU community.
  • Smoking on campus.
  • Using a mobile phone in a prohibited area, except with the prior authorization of an instructor for use in a class project or exercise.
  • Using a camera on campus except with the prior written authorization of an instructor for use in a class project or exercise.
  • Borrowing or taking someone else property without prior and express permission.
  • Misusing University email.
  • Giving money or gifts of substantial value to JU employees or receiving substantial gifts from the same.
  • Engaging in any behaviour that damages the reputation of Jumeira University, whether on campus or at a university-sponsored event off campus.
  • Engaging in electronic and social media communication channels in a manner that is deemed to be disrespectful to any of JU members, damages the reputation of the University, or broadcasts ideas that promote hate, discrimination, violence or terrorism within JU, or the local or global community.
  • Engaging in immoral or unethical behaviour that contradicts with JU value system and UAE heritage.
  • Failure to disclose name, ID, and other relevant details to an employee of JU in circumstances where it is reasonable to require that such information to be given.
  • Failure to comply with the published safety measures and protocols of COVID-19 published regularly by the University Management or Health and Safety Steering Committee.
  • Failure to comply with a previously imposed penalty under this Code.

Mosque:

We have the Aisha Mosque available for students to pray at Jumeira University. As part of our student services, we provide access to the Aisha Mosque for prayer purposes. It serves as a dedicated space for students to fulfill their religious obligations conveniently on campus.

Student orientation program

Our student orientation program ensures a smooth transition into university life, providing you with the tools and resources needed to succeed. During orientation, you'll explore campus facilities, academic programs, and support services, while meeting faculty, staff, and fellow students. Our sessions cover academic advising, campus life, clubs, safety, and our commitment to excellence.

Learning and development academy(LDA)

The LDA promotes continuous education and life-long learning within the University and community. This will include planning and delivering long and short-term programs tailored to students and community needs. The unit’s primary focus is to establish the student advancement platform to maximize the education experience for every student and ensure students’ success. The courses offered at the Academy are:
